Start tour with a visit to see local artisans in their woodworking handicraft workshop in Mandalay making beautiful wood paneling, puppets and statues.
Next, go and see the local ladies in a silk making handicraft workshop in Amarapura making silk and cotton garments on old style wooden looms as they have done for centuries.
Then we visit the Maha Gandhayon Monastery in Amarapura to see over 1,000 monks of all ages in their daily life.
From there we drive aross the Ayeyarwady River (Irrawaddy River) and visit Sagaing to see the massive golden dome of the Kaunghmudaw Pagoda. While you are there you can go out the back to the large pool and feed the turtles and fish. From there we go up to Umin Thonzo Pagoda to see the curved Buddha statue cave room and enjoy good views over the river from Sagaing back to Mandalay.
Leave Sagaing and cross back over the Ayeyarwady River to take a short river ferry ride over to the ancient capital of Inwa. Enjoy a horse cart ride around Inwa’s ancient monasteries and pagodas.
Finish the day watching the beautiful sunset at the U Bien Bridge in Amarapura. Drop you back to your hotel.
